Programs
Guidelines
- Summer Reading Club runs from June 15th- August 10th.
You must sign up at the library!
- ¤ Sign ups will begin on June 15th.
- ¤ When you sign up, you will receive a bag with a record sheet, calendar,
and instructions. For every 20 minutes you read, cross off or color a space on your record sheet.
For children ages 3-12, every 120 minutes earns a ticket to put in the prize buckets.
Teens need to read 600 minutes per ticket.
- ¤ The first 150 children who read 120 minutes will get a FREE
Summer Reading Club t-shirt!
- ¤ Don't forget to stop in and receive a small prize from the prize machine!
- ¤ New this year: All Through the Town Planet Seek & Find
Find the 8 planet stickers at businesses around town using the clue book in your registration bag.
Find all 8 and receive a prize! Weekly Activities

Puzzling Mondays: Stop in anytime on Mondays to earn 1 ticket for trying the puzzle, and 2
if you solve it.
- ¤
Make It, Take It Wednesdays: Come in on Wednesday from 10:30 am-6:00 pm to make a fun craft.
- ¤
Preschool Block Party: Make new friends at our Thursday morning group!
- ¤
Free Book Fridays: Every Friday you can get a free book! You must be signed up for the Summer Reading
Club.
- ¤ Olympia the library fairy is back! Each week she'll find a new hiding place
in the library, and there will be a new clue to help you. Stop in any time, and earn an extra ticket if you find her!
Book Clubs
- ¤
Tween Book Club: Ages 8-12. 10:30 am on June 26th, July 17th,
and July 31st.
- ¤
About Books Club: Ages 13-18. 3:00 pm on June 14th, July 12th,
and August 9th.
Special Programs

Toy Story Marathon: See the first 3 movies before #4 comes out! Thursday, June 20th at 10:30 am.

Learning New Skills:
Braided Bracelets- June 25th
Quilling- July 9th
Loom Knitting- July 30th - ¤
Family Cookbook Club: Pick a recipe from the cookbook of the month and make it with your family,
then bring it in for the group to taste and rate. June 27th, July 18th, and August 22nd at 6:30 pm.

Author Visit: Author Christine Kendall will be here for a meet and greet.
- ¤
Story Time Yoga: Fridays July 5th & 9th, August 2nd & 16th at 10:30 am. For ages 18 months to 5 years.
Patrons attending the Summer Reading Club
programs are asked to park in the Key Bank parking lot.
The Teddy Bear Club Baby Summer Reading Program
Children from birth to 2 years old may participate in the Upper Perkiomen Valley Library’s
Summer Reading Program for babies, "The Teddy Bear Club".
The focus of the Teddy Bear Club is on the six Early Literacy Skills (see brochure for information).
Instructions:
- ¤ Registration begins June 15th (you may register anytime during the
summer).
- ¤ Registration must be done in person at the library.
- ¤ Upon registration you will receive an activity sheet with suggested Early
Literacy Activities. Color a bear each time you complete an Early Literacy Activity.
- ¤ When you have colored in 12 bears, bring the log back
to the library and your child will receive his or her very own book.
- ¤ When you have colored in all of the bears, bring the
log back to the library and your child will receive his or her very own stuffed animal!
- ¤ The last day to return a log is August 10th.
